Karegar Legal Disclaimer
This notice explains Karegar's marketplace role, service estimates, verification limits, safety responsibilities, third-party integrations and cooperation with lawful authorities in Pakistan.
This disclaimer forms part of the information governing use of Karegar together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Notice and Safety Policy. It does not remove any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. Operator and acceptance
The Karegar.app website, booking service and related applications are referred to as the “Platform”. By accessing the Platform, creating an account or confirming a booking, a user acknowledges this Disclaimer and the linked legal notices. Karegar's complete legal-operator and registration disclosures will be published when formally confirmed; this page does not invent or imply registration, licensing or government approval.
2. Nature of the Platform
Karegar provides technology for discovering, requesting, scheduling, matching and communicating about home services. Unless a booking expressly identifies Karegar as the direct provider, work is performed by a third-party service professional or business. The customer and professional remain responsible for the agreed scope, lawful access, site conditions and performance, subject to Karegar's platform rules and protections expressly shown for the booking.
3. No government affiliation or professional advice
Karegar is not a government department, regulator, emergency service, utility authority, engineering authority, legal adviser or insurer. Verification or licensing references do not imply government endorsement. Platform content is general information and is not technical, legal, medical, engineering, electrical, gas-safety or emergency advice.
4. Service information, estimates and availability
“Starting from” prices, diagnostic suggestions, durations and arrival windows are estimates based on the information available. Additional work or material cost requires an itemized quotation or another approval process shown on the Platform and customer acceptance before work begins. Traffic, parts, site conditions, safety concerns and events outside reasonable control may affect timing. Continuous Platform or provider availability is not guaranteed.
5. Customer responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate account, address, access and fault information; be legally capable of contracting; arrange an authorised adult where required; disclose hazards; secure valuables, pets and restricted areas; inspect quotations; and comply with applicable law. Passwords, banking PINs, card-security codes and payment OTPs must never be shared with Karegar or a professional.
6. Professional status and verification
Professionals must use their own approved account, possess the skills, tools, permits and licences required for accepted work, follow safety and conduct rules, avoid unauthorised substitutions, protect customer information and report incidents. A verification badge describes checks recorded as completed at the displayed time; it does not guarantee future conduct, workmanship or suitability for every task.
7. Safety and emergencies
Karegar safety features support but do not replace personal judgment or emergency services. Do not request or continue work during fire, gas leakage, exposed live wiring, structural danger, violence, serious injury or another immediate threat. Leave the area when appropriate and contact the competent emergency service. Verify the arriving professional against the booking profile before sharing any start OTP.
8. Payments, quotations and refunds
Available charges, taxes, platform fees, cancellation charges and payment methods are shown before confirmation or through an approved quotation. Pay only through a method authorised for the booking. Karegar is not responsible for unauthorised off-platform cash or transfers or independent banking outages except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded. Refunds and disputes remain subject to the published terms and applicable law.
9. Reviews and user content
Users remain responsible for submitted content. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences and must not be unlawful, defamatory, threatening, infringing, discriminatory or privacy-invasive. Karegar may moderate content, preserve relevant evidence and provide a reporting process. Private household images are not authorised for advertising without separate consent.
10. Privacy and location
Karegar processes account, contact, booking, address, communication, device, payment-reference and, when enabled, location information for security, matching, navigation, service delivery, support, fraud prevention and legal compliance as explained in the Privacy Notice. Exact addresses and live locations are disclosed only when operationally necessary. Access, correction and deletion requests may be submitted through the contact form, subject to lawful retention.
11. Government, court and law-enforcement cooperation
Karegar may preserve, use or disclose relevant information when required by applicable law, a valid court order or a properly authorised competent authority; to protect life, safety, rights or property; to investigate fraud or cybercrime; or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Karegar seeks to verify requests, limit disclosure to lawful and relevant scope, retain access records and challenge apparently defective or excessive requests where legally and practically appropriate. Notice may be withheld where prohibited or where it creates a material safety or investigative risk.
12. Third-party services
Maps, payment services, identity checks, messaging, hosting, analytics and external links may be operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy practices. Karegar uses reasonable care when selecting integrations but does not control independent third-party systems. An external link is not an endorsement unless expressly stated.
13. Intellectual property
The Karegar name, logo, Platform design, original text and software belong to Karegar or its licensors. Users receive a limited, revocable and non-transferable right to use the Platform lawfully. Unauthorised scraping, copying, impersonation, reverse engineering, commercial reuse and infringement are prohibited except where applicable law permits otherwise.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karegar is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential loss, loss of profit, opportunity, data or goodwill, or damage caused solely by information concealed or misstated by a user, unauthorised off-platform dealings or events beyond Karegar's reasonable control. Nothing excludes fraud, wilful misconduct, mandatory consumer rights or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law and the Terms, a user or professional may be responsible for third-party claims caused by that party's unlawful conduct, material breach, infringement, fraud or intentional Platform misuse. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from Karegar's own breach, negligence or misconduct, or where such responsibility would be unfair or unlawful.
16. Suspension and investigation
Karegar may temporarily restrict accounts, communication, bookings or payouts where reasonably necessary to protect users, preserve evidence, prevent fraud, comply with law or investigate a serious complaint. Temporary action is not a final finding. Notice, a reasonable opportunity to respond and a review channel will be provided where lawful and appropriate.
17. Changes
Karegar may update this Disclaimer for legal, safety, operational or product reasons. The current version and effective date appear above. Material changes affecting existing users will be communicated through a reasonable channel and fresh acceptance obtained where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued mandatory rights.
18. Governing law and disputes
This Disclaimer and Platform use are governed by the laws of Pakistan and applicable law in the province or territory where the service is supplied. Users should first submit the booking or reference number through the Karegar grievance and support form. Nothing prevents a consumer from using a competent consumer court, regulator or other mandatory forum.
19. Contact and official requests
Customer complaints, privacy requests and properly authorised government, court or law-enforcement requests may be submitted through the contact form. Include the booking, case or official reference number and suitable contact details. Never send passwords, full banking credentials, PINs or payment OTPs.
This publication is adapted from the supplied Pakistan legal-disclaimer draft. Karegar must still add its confirmed legal entity, registration and principal-office disclosures after review by a lawyer licensed in Pakistan.
